rock chip that you want the best results, do the following:
Build up the depth of the rock chip (3 to 5 applications) with a quality touch up paint until it forms a small hump. (Think nail polish).
About a week later, wet sand it down with 1000 grit or finer.
Buff out with a "real" machine polisher ie) one with a course wool pad that creates heat. Heat will shift clearcoat to fill scratches. It will blend the edges of the rock chip into the touch up paint. Use finer grade polishing compounds until you reach desired finish.
